Acceptable use policy

This policy is part of the terms of service. It applies to everyone who uses InsuranceQuoteWidget, including your team members and anyone you give access to.

What counts as deceptive insurance advertising?

You may not use calculators, widgets or the surrounding pages to mislead consumers. That includes:

• presenting a calculator estimate as a quote, a guaranteed price or an approval;
• promising savings, lower premiums, guaranteed coverage or benefits a consumer cannot get;
• hiding who will contact the consumer, or what the consumer is agreeing to when they submit the form;
• advertising in a way that breaks state insurance advertising rules, carrier rules or CMS marketing rules;
• using bait offers such as "free money", fake deadlines or invented government benefits.

Can I sell or share the leads I collect?

Not from consumers who did not agree to it. You may not resell, rent, share or transfer leads to another agency, call center, lead buyer or aggregator unless each consumer gave clear consent to be contacted by that recipient and the transfer is lawful. You must not use our forms to collect leads on behalf of undisclosed buyers.

Can I use carrier or government names?

Only accurately. You may not impersonate an insurance carrier, a government program or a government agency, or suggest an affiliation that does not exist. In particular, do not describe your site or calculator as "official Medicare", "the Medicare helpline", "government-sponsored" or similar, and do not use carrier logos or trademarks without the right to do so.

What about discrimination?

You may not configure or use the service to discriminate unlawfully against people based on race, color, religion, national origin, sex, disability, or any other characteristic protected by federal or state law, including by steering or excluding consumers from information or follow-up on that basis.

What security abuse is prohibited?

• Probing, scanning or testing the vulnerability of the service without our written permission.
• Bypassing authentication, plan limits, rate limits or spam protection.
• Accessing another workspace's data, or trying to.
• Uploading malware or code designed to harm visitors, including through custom CSS or embedded content.
• Flooding forms or webhooks with automated or fake submissions.

Is scraping allowed?

No. Do not scrape, crawl or harvest the website, the app, calculators or other customers' embeds by automated means, except for search engine indexing that follows our robots rules. Do not copy calculators' logic or content to build a competing product.

What else is not allowed?

• Using the service for anything illegal, or to send spam.
• Calling or texting leads without the consent the law requires. See the lead consent guide.
• Uploading content that infringes someone else's rights. See the DMCA policy.
• Selling or reselling access to the service, except as your plan's white-label terms allow.

What happens if the policy is broken?

We may remove content, disable a calculator or widget, suspend or terminate the account, and report unlawful activity to the authorities. Where practical, we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem. Report a suspected violation to legal@insurancequotewidget.com.
