Help · HighLevel

Add your calculator to HighLevel funnels and websites

Many agencies build their pages in HighLevel and work their leads there too. The calculator goes on the page through the Custom JS/HTML element; its leads come back into HighLevel through an inbound webhook. This guide covers both halves.

To embed a calculator in a HighLevel funnel or website, open the page in the builder, add the Custom JS/HTML element where the calculator should appear, open its code editor, paste the code from your account's Embed tab, save and publish. Leads reach HighLevel separately, through a workflow with an Inbound Webhook trigger.

How it works, step by step

How it works, step by step

  1. Copy the code from your Embed tab

In your account, open the calculator or widget, choose Inline and copy the code.

  2. Open the page in the HighLevel builder

Go to Sites, open the funnel or website, and edit the step or page that should hold the calculator.

  3. Add the Custom JS/HTML element

Add a row and column if needed, then drag in the Custom JS/HTML element (listed among the custom or code elements).

  4. Paste the code and save

Open the element's code editor, paste the embed code, save the element and then save the page.

  5. Preview the published page

Publish, then open the live step URL in a private window. The builder canvas may not run the script, so judge it on the live page.

  6. Create the receiving workflow

In Automation, create a workflow with the Inbound Webhook trigger, copy its URL and paste it into your account's webhook settings (agency-wide or for this calculator).

  7. Send a test lead and map fields

Submit the calculator on the live page so the trigger receives a sample, then add a create-or-update contact action and map the contact, inputs, results and attribution fields.

Common pitfalls

  • Judging by the builder canvas — scripts may not render while editing. Check the published step.
  • Pasting into a text or headline element — the code appears as text. Use Custom JS/HTML.
  • Adding a HighLevel form on the same step as well — visitors fill in two forms. Let the calculator's form be the capture point.
  • Forgetting to publish the workflow — the webhook URL exists but nothing happens when a lead arrives.
  • Mapping fields before any test data was sent — the trigger has no sample to map from. Submit a test lead first.
  • Different sub-accounts for the page and the workflow — make sure the webhook URL comes from the sub-account that should own the contact.

Why are the page and the lead set up separately?

The embed only puts the calculator on your HighLevel page. The lead travels by a different route: when a visitor submits, the lead is saved in your account and POSTed as JSON to your webhook. Pointing that webhook at a HighLevel inbound webhook trigger is what turns the submission into a contact and workflow run.

This also means the same HighLevel workflow can receive leads from calculators on any site — your HighLevel funnel, a WordPress blog or a direct link in an email. See HighLevel CRM sync for field mapping ideas.

How should a HighLevel funnel step use the calculator?

Make the calculator the main action of the step, with a short headline about the visitor's question — how much life cover a family needs, or what a lump sum could pay monthly. Remove competing forms and buttons. After the visitor submits, your workflow handles follow-up, so the step doesn't need a separate thank-you redirect.

For paid traffic, keep UTM tags on your ad links. The calculator captures UTMs, click IDs, referrer and first-touch source and sends them in the payload, so you can map them to contact fields or opportunity sources.

What should my HighLevel follow-up workflow respect?

Your workflow should follow the consent the visitor actually gave. If it sends texts or places calls, especially automated ones, TCPA consent rules apply, and Medicare marketing adds CMS requirements. Only text a lead who gave a phone number with consent, and have your compliance contact review the wording. This isn't legal advice.

Our compliance notes and lead consent page explain what the form records and what remains your responsibility.

FAQ

Questions agencies ask

Answers first, details after.

Which HighLevel element holds the calculator?

The Custom JS/HTML element in the funnel and website builder. Text, headline and form elements won't run the embed code.

Do embedded calculators automatically create HighLevel contacts?

Not by themselves. Contacts are created by your workflow when it receives the webhook. Set up a workflow with the Inbound Webhook trigger and a create-or-update contact action, then paste its URL into your webhook settings.

Can I use a popup or floating bubble on a HighLevel funnel?

Yes. Paste the popup button or floating bubble code into a Custom JS/HTML element, or into the funnel's tracking code area if you want it on every step. Test on the published URL.

Can I send different calculators to different HighLevel pipelines?

Yes. Give each calculator its own webhook URL from a separate workflow, or use one agency-wide webhook and branch in the workflow on the calculator field in the payload.

Will the calculator match my HighLevel page design?

It keeps its own styling, isolated from the page's CSS. Choose a theme, palette and fonts in your account that sit well with the funnel's colors.

What if a HighLevel contact already exists for the visitor?

Your workflow's create-or-update contact action matches on email or phone, depending on how you set it. On our side, contacts are de-duplicated by email, then phone, and repeat submissions are appended to the same record.

Can I use this on a HighLevel website as well as funnels?

Yes. Websites and funnels share the same builder elements, so the Custom JS/HTML element works on both.

Which plan do I need to send leads into HighLevel?

The Producer plan doesn't include webhooks, and the insurance calculators are on Enterprise, which does. You can embed on HighLevel pages on any plan, but sending leads into HighLevel needs a plan with webhooks.
